Ads on your blog
Posted by Miss W. on May 15, 2010
Because you have free Edublogs accounts, it means that you and your readers will often see ads on your blog. At the moment there should be one about Edublogs campus and another about WPMUDEV. Edublogs try to make sure the ads on your blog are suitable for students rather than the normal Google type advertisements.
You might also find some words in your actual posts are blue double underlined. These are also ads. If your parents or an adult click on the word and it comes back to an inappropriate link, please screenprint where it went to and send to me in an email. I will then contact Edublogs.
Because Miss Wyatt pays about $40 per year for some of her blogs, it means she doesn’t have ads appear and she can actually disable ads from some of her student blogs. So over the next few weeks, Miss Wyatt will be checking which students are writing lots of interesting posts, who are attracting overseas readers to their blogs and who are starting to use their blogs to show a positive digital footprint.
Miss Wyatt will then disable the ads on those student blogs and this will also allow those students to have more themes to choose from.

Many of you will have lost your maps and pets on your blogs this week. This is due to a lot of sploggers using the code to leave comments on blogs. Here is the reply from Edublogs when I asked what had happened. Notice, if I disable ads on your blog, you will be able to add your pets and maps back.
Will you be one of those students showing a great interest in using your blog?
