FAVOURITE SPORTS / ACTIVITIES
Posted by shaynec1 on November 14, 2011
Hi there. Most people love to participate in sporting and or recreational activities in the outdoors at various times of the year. Winter in Australia always means Aussie Rules, soccer, hockey, netball etc in Tassie. Over summer it is cricket, camping, car and motor bike racing, fishing and surfing. What activities and or sports do you like or participate in over the winter and summer?
Surfing, surf life saving and kayak racing are my favourite sports. Follow these links out to find out about what goes on.
Create a post telling what you enjoy with a link to your favourite sport and or recreation. Make sure to save it in one of your categories!

Hi Siddarath. I am glad you like our blog. Do you play any sports? What is your favourite? Surfing is quite popular in Australia and our school is near some lovely beaches so lots of students like to spend time at the beach. I have left a comment on your blog.

Hi Siddarath. I am an ICT teacher at our school. Our school is in Tasmania and close to beaches so many students enjoy fishing, surfing, boating swimming etc. Enjoy the summer.

I think it’s too cold to go swimming or do water sports in Tasmania! I prefer to ride my bike or run because then you are pretty much guaranteed to warm up. Tasmania is a beautiful place to ride! There are lots of fantastic hills and mountains to climb (and descend at very high speeds!) and lovely scenery to look at as you ride around.

G’day Mr Clark,
Great post and lots of choice for the students to write about. My favourite sport is, of course, using my computer or doesn’t that count?
If I have to go outside then I enjoy travelling, need I say any more.
PS For some reason, either Edublogs or Flickrcc have changed the way they do the attribution. You no longer need to include the actual link at the end of the post. Include the section Image: ….. but not the line starting with http://
I will need to change this ready for next year in the post about images.

Hi Miss W.,
Thank you for the information about the attributions. A lot of students are still working on using them correctly, so this information will be helpful. At the moment flickercc is actually blocked by the Education Department so we have been searching for photos with a creative commons licence elsewhere.

Hi Ms Wyatt..yes there certainly is a lot of mental sport and running around with computers..remember to always warm up first so you do not strain muscles!
Report writing is on in earnest . You may or may not know that Jules Whittle is our AP for next year. Should be good move.
Happy travelling.

Hello Jim. Great to know you like our blog. I am an ICT teacher at our school in Tasmania…the island state at the bottom of Australia. Most of our students live close to beaches/water. We are coming into early summer now and having variable spring weather…windy 22 C today. I trust your approaching winter is not too chilly.
